Broken Glass
A couple of weeks ago, I discovered that a high traffic crossing of one of my local trails was littered with broken glass. Fortunately, I’ve been able to avoid any flats.
I’m not sure what I was waiting for — perhaps a city clean-up crew, a strong storm to wash away the debris, or perhaps the magical trail fairy — but I was hoping it would be gone soon. Unfortunately, the broken glass has remained.
This morning, I decided to take matters in my own hands and deal with it myself.

Albany is (imo) the broken glass capital of the country. Every Monday there are fresh clouds of it. Every holiday is followed by copious amounts of it. And it never, ever gets cleaned up. The fabled street sweepers have only ever cleaned up broken glass *once* (this year).
Sigh.
I often consider carrying around a little broom and dustpan to deal with these things as I pass them, instead of hoping it resolves itself.

Perhaps it is YOU who is the magical trail fairy…
