pedallas reports: Critical Mass Dallas 8.28.09
pedallas.com – HOME – Critical Mass Dallas 8.28.09.
I saw this on a great Dallas bike blog, pedallas (cool name, too) and I’m trying to figure out a way to attend this event.
Unfortunately for me, it’s at night and I’m not really set up with lighting gear. Plus, when I started riding again, I promised my wife that I wouldn’t ride on the streets at night. She trusts DFW drivers less than I do – if that’s possible.
I might swing down there to take a few pics. Stay tuned.
Critical Mass Dallas also has a Facebook group if you want to join or find out more info about them.
UPDATE: The Bike Friendly Oak Cliff blog posted some pic from the event: LINK
Light gear is a must, for sure. You know on my biking to and from Mockingbird station at night, I actually find people give me a lot more space and never ever honk. I don’t know if it is isolated to this part of town or not…
Too bad I’ll be up in Wichita Falls for Hotter’n Hell on Friday night. Wonder why they would do it before that ride…

Considering that the nature of the Critical Mass is slow paced, my guess is that most of the folk attending that aren’t the type that do the Hotter’n Hell.
Good luck with that, BTW.
