Introducing Bike Friendly Knox-Henderson
We have more good news in the DFW area. Rolling off the success of Bike Friendly Oak Cliff, another north Texas neighborhood has joined the ranks of local bicycle advocacy. We now have Bike Friendly Knox-Henderson, adding to the family which includes Bike Denton, Bike Friendly Richardson and the recently discussed Bike Friendly Lakewood. Who knows how many more of these will pop up?
Quite frankly, I’d love to see more advocacy in every metroplex neighborhood. If anything, it shows that there are folks in town that care about cycling and want Dallas to be a better place for riding.
BFKH is especially good news for me since it happens to represent one of my favorite areas in Dallas. Plus, it is intersected by the Katy Trail, which is a great connection to downtown.
I really need to get with Myles over at Rat Trap Press. Between the two of us we should be able to declare Wedgwood in southwest Fort Worth bike friendly. Miles of sedate residential streets and three bike shops (City Cyclist, Bikes Inc. & Performance Bike). What’s not friendly about that?
