Pics From Bike Friendly Oak Cliff’s Cyclesomatic Bike Fair & Spooky Cyclocross 2012
Yesterday, my local cycling group, Bike Friendly Richardson, was invited to have a table at the Cyclesomatic Bike Fair – hosted by Bike Friendly Oak Cliff. It started off a bit chilly, but it ended up being a great day.
Along with many booths and a huge crowd, there was a cyclocross race. I’d never seen one in person, so it was pretty exciting to watch.
There was also a bike powered smoothie station hosted by BikeDFW as well as representatives from Metroplex BMX, Pedal Power, Bicycles, Inc and ReGeared. Good Karma Kitchen was there with some tasty food and the youngsters in the crowd were entertained by a bounce house and fantastic face painting. If that wasn’t enough, there was a BMX Stunt show.

Dallas Gets Another Tweed Ride – November 21
It was such a great success last year, Bike Friendly Oak Cliff HAD to do another Tweed Ride.
Tweed rides have been seen around the country as a great way to get the community dressed up and out for a fun bike ride. So, dig through the back of your closet, rummage through the attic or hit the local thrift store and find a way to participate in this entertaining event.
DATE: November 21, 2010
TIME: 3:30 PM
PLACE: Grassy Knoll (Downtown Dallas)
Be sure to bring your lights. The event starts early, but the days are shorter.

Pics From Today’s BFOC – On the Trail of Lee Harvey Oswald’s Footsteps Ride
I took the DART Red Line to downtown Dallas to take part in Bike Friendly Oak Cliff’s On The Trail Of Lee Harvey Oswald’s Footsteps Ride. It was a beautiful day so it was a huge turnout. Jason Roberts and the group from BFOC were great tour guides with lots of great information about those earlier days in Dallas. It was cool to put all those things I’ve read about in context with the actual locations.

BFOC Spring Has Sprung Ride Pics
I took a spin with the BFOC group today to tour the community gardens of Oak Cliff on their Spring Has Sprung Ride. The ride was a bit hot, but the stops were interesting and a bit inspirational.

Pics From The BFOC Love Your Lane Group Ride
Although it was extremely cold and we seemed to be against the wind the whole way, I had a great time riding with the Bike Friendly Oak Cliff Group yesterday at their Love Your Lane Valentine’s Day Ride. This group wasn’t as large as some of their other group rides, but the folks were just as awesome.

BFOC Santa Ride Follow Up
I attended Bike Friendly Oak Cliff‘s Santa Ride Yesterday and had a blast. The crowd was huge with everybody and their bikes decked out in holiday flair.
Like with other BFOC rides, the pace was casual and the route manageable. It started in downtown Dallas at the new Main Street Garden Park. The route took us through Deep Ellum, back into downtown, then south past the Farmer’s Market. The group then headed into south Dallas, past Dallas Heritage Village and up South Lamar – back into downtown again. From there, we took the Houston Street Bridge into Oak Cliff for our rest stop on Bishop Street.
After some refreshments, the group headed back into downtown Dallas, and ended back at the Main Street Garden Park.

Time For A Holiday Urban Assault
This is a great weekend for riding. There’ll be two awesome events happening in Dallas this weekend:
Pedallas is presenting their first alley cat called The Twenty. I believe all the racing slots are taken, but they’re inviting everybody to come down to watch and support the riders. It will kick off at 10:00 am at the Main Street Garden Park.
Also, don’t forget about Bike Friendly Oak Cliff‘s Santa Ride. It’s starts at 2:30 pm at the Main Street Garden Park. I’ll see you there.
