Holy Crap! Suburban Assault Turns Five

with 3 comments

Obey Dallas Texas

When I started this blog five years ago, I wasn’t sure that I would keep up with it. As I’ve said before, even five years doesn’t seem like much compared to some of the other great bike blogs out there – and I’m humbled by them. Now, with over 745 posts, I still love doing this.

I’m not sure why, but readership continues to stick with me. It’s also truly amazing when I get recognized on the street as the Suburban Assault guy. I deeply thank those who have taken the time to stop by and visit this site. I’m still trying to figure out a niche for this blog to help it stand out among all the others. For now, I’ll continue posting Hump Day Pics as well as plenty of interesting, bike related things. As long as I’m passionate about bicycling, I’ll keep posting here.

Also, over the years, I’ve grown as a cyclist. I started as a slow-rolling goof, who discovered a passion for exploring his city by bike. Now, I’m a slow-rolling, practical cyclist who commutes to work, advocates for cycling and enjoys teaching as a League Cycling Instructor. I could not be happier.

Again, thank you for following and reading Suburban Assault.

Plano Trail Network

When I started this blog four years (and one month) ago, I wasn’t sure that I would keep up with it. As I’ve said before, even four years doesn’t seem like much compared to some of the other great bike blogs out there – and I’m humbled by them. Now, with over 635 posts, I still love doing this.

I’m not sure why, but readership continues to climb.

Again, thank you for following and reading Suburban Assault.

Coming From

When I started this blog three years (and one month) ago, I wasn’t sure that I would keep up with it. As I’ve said before, even three years doesn’t seem like much compared to some of the other great bike blogs out there – and I’m humbled by them. Now, with over 500 posts, I still love doing this.

I’m not sure why, but readership continues to climb – double from last year.

Again, thank you for following and reading Suburban Assault.

Suburban Assault Turns Two

Fish Scale Tiles

When I started this blog two years ago, I wasn’t sure that I would keep up with it. Two years doesn’t seem like much compared to some of the other great bike blogs out there, but after 322 posts I feel like I’m starting to get some momentum.

Readership seems to have picked up, and I thank those who have taken the time to stop by and visit this site. I’m not sure where I’ll be taking the blog into this next year, but I know there will be more Hump Day Pics as well as plenty of interesting, bike related things. For as long as I’m passionate about bicycling, I’ll keep posting here.

Again, thank you for following and reading Suburban Assault.

Happy Birthday Suburban Assault

with 4 comments

Suburban Assault started as a personal Flickr set back in September 2008. Discovering that other folks also captured shots of their neighborhood bike rides, I started the Suburban Assault Flickr Group. This eventually kicked off a Facebook group. Finally, in July 2009, I thought I would try my hand at blogging.

After a year (with the blog), 3500 photos, several hundred miles and over 170 post, Suburban Assault is still around.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank everybody for contributing to the Flickr Group, visiting our Facebook page and viewing this blog.
