I wanted to catch more of the Cyclesomatic Bike Festival, but it happened to fall on one of the crappiest weeks at work.

Fortunately, deadlines were met and I managed to squeeze a little time out this past weekend to catch the tail end of it. The one event that I really wanted to catch was the Tyler Street Block Party hosted by the Oak Cliff Bicycle Company and Cube Creative — mostly because my wife Wendy Woodruff-Wezensky had a few pics that were included in their art show.

We had a great time seeing all the bikes, watching the hula-hoop folks and checking out all the great art. DART was there with bus/bike rack demonstrations and swag giveaways. We also got to meet Robertus Van der Wege and saw some of his great bike art at the Mighty Fine Arts gallery. He had more sculptures at other locations, but we only caught the one at Decorazon on bishop street the following day. BTW, we loved David E. Peterson’s work as well (also at Decorazon).

They were also setting up for a virtual, stationary bike race, but the kids were hungry and the tasty Urban Dog hot chocolate wasn’t hitting the spot, so we left before that got kicked off.

My wife, Wendy (aka triple dub images) just informed me that the folks at Photopol really like a few of her shots and you will be seeing them at their opening during the Cyclesomatic, Tyler Street Block Party Saturday, October 10.

If you make it out to the event, please be sure to keep an eye out for a some of my favorite pics.
